Let us give thanks today for all the blessings God has given us.  He is so merciful and gracious to us in all
our shortcomings.  Let us again renew our commitment to work together in the Fields of the Lord and in His
Harvest of Souls.  Eternal life is the goal for each one we meet.  Christian growth then comes after a person
is saved.

Harvest Day is a time of celebration for the Blessings that God has given us.  It began as a time for the
harvest offering to be brought back to God’s House.  The Farmers were finishing up with the harvesting of
their crops and it seemed to be a good time for the ingathering.  The offering taken on this Sunday goes to
the Building Fund.  We had used the 5th Sunday offering as Building Fund offering, but decided to use just
the Harvest Day and Homecoming celebration as Building Fund offering.  The Church Family decided
instead of having a Homecoming every year –Harvest Day would be the 3rd Sunday in September and every
5 years on the 3rd Sunday in September would be celebrated as Homecoming.  Our next Homecoming will
be in 2010.
